Hardwire announced on Dec. 13th that the first in a series of patents covering its composite and armor technology has been issued from the U.S. Patent and Trademark office. Patent #7,144,625 was originally applied for in 2000 and covers a wide range of applications utilizing Hardwire’s revolutionary steel reinforced composite technologies.

George Tunis, CEO of Hardwire and the patent's author, stated that this patent is one of the cornerstones of Hardwire’s business. “This patent not only protects our core technologies, but also protects our customers and the innovative work they have done to open new markets with Hardwire,” said Tunis. “The marriage of steel and plastics was inevitable and we are happy to see the applications developing that take advantage of the well known and synergistic properties of each of these great materials.”
