The ST2 Hardwire® is a high carbon steel cord with a micro-fine brass or AO-brass (Adhesion Optimized) coating. The ST2 cord is made by twisting two individual wire filaments together at a medium twist angle. The result is an easy to handle cord that bends well in a metal break and has great engineering values in the thinnest Hardwire® profile available. If your application is requires a thin envelope, yet needs the ductility and tear resistance Hardwire® provides then ST2 should be your choice.

Characteristics:

  • Best properties in tensile applications.
  • Excellent mix of engineering properties - Up to 4KIPS/inch.
  • Extremely conformable - bends easily and retains its shape.
  • Asymmetric shape acts like a screw and gives great mechanical bonding characteristics.
  • Excellent fatigue properties in tension and in high-flex situations.
  • Great choice for vertical and overhead applications where weight of fabric is critical.
  • Best used in applications where thin layers are required.
