HARDWIRE TECHNICAL & VIDEO RESOURCES

Hardwire wants you to have the tools to complete the job correctly... the first time. To aid in that process we have created numerous videos demonstrating the various capabilities of our products.

Hardwire Video-On-Demand

What Is Hardwire? This 16 minute introduction to Hardwire is performed by the owner and inventor of Hardwire, George Tunis, and provides an overview to Hardwire and why it was developed.

Layup and Infusion With Hardwire This 30 minute video provides a wealth of knowledge regarding laying up Hardwire materials, what materials to use and how to use them, and the characteristics of each material. Finally an "infusion race" is demonstrated pitting traditional carbon and glass layups versus Hardwire.

Hardwire Material Overview and Design Considerations This 12 minute video details the individual Hardwire cord charcteristics, the various Hardwire tape products and their corresponding characteristics, and design considerations when using these products.

Infrastructure Repair Using Hardwire This 35 minute video details the repair of a 100 year old theater located in Baltimore, MD. Hardwire was used to reinforce the concrete underside of the upper concourse. Pieces were pre-bent on 90 degree angles and applied using an epoxy resin. This video details the project from start to completion including surface preparation, Hardwire application, and finishing.

Cutting Hardwire This 1 minute video shows the ease at with the Hardwire tapes can be cut when the proper equipment is used.

Cutting Hardwire Tapes in Detail This 11 minute video shows the various methods in which Hardwire can be cut and tools required to do so.

Hardwire Packaging Options This 3 minute video details the various packaging options available when purchasing Hardwire.

Hardwire Tools

Wire and Composite Details This PDF format spreadsheet gives the engineering specifications for complete Hardwire product line. Wire areas, weights, break strength, cord modulus, etc. are listed for all of the Hardwire cord types. Wire volume, weight, tensile load, effective modulus, E*T, etc. from a typical laminate made from a single ply of Hardwire are provided as well. Click here for the Excel (.XLS) version.

Seg-Beam.xls This interactive Excel spreadsheet is our favorite tool for looking at rectilinear beams made from different modulus materials. Use this program to compare materials and their effects in square, I, Z, or box beams. Seg-beam.xls is great when looking at existing designs and seeing the effect of adding Hardwire. Examples of when to use Seg-beam.xls are for retrofits or existing geometries where the designer is working to substitute Hardwire for traditional fibers. Using this program you will be amazed at the effect Hardwire will have in reducing thickness and boosting strength and overall stiffness.
